Instance filters allow you to quickly adjust the display of content on multiple reports across a dashboard so you can compare unique attributes across each. You can add instance filters to a report on a dashboard to customize its view.
For example, let's say you're setting up a dashboard for a manager to reflect her team's performance and you've created nine reports, one for each agent on her team. Using instance filters, you can filter each report uniquely by agent, team or a particular category to compare one report to others, or show a unique comparison across them all.
Getting started: If you’re not already in a dashboard, first select a dashboard from the My dashboards list (found in the Insights tab at the top right of the application).
Add dashboard instance filters:
- Click on the Settings gear icon and select the Instance filter settings option.
- In the popup, do the following:
a) Optional: enter a subtitle to appear on the report graph explaining what filters you applied,
b) Optional: select if you want the dashboard to ignore any folder filters or user view filters, and
c) Click the Add filters button to open the filters drawer on the right (see D below).
Note: Your available filters may not match the example shown below.
- First select any instance filters you want applied to the dashboard (see A below), then click the Save button (see B below).
- Once you apply dashboard instance filters, they'll display on the report graphs as follows:
a) The optional subtitle you entered, and
b) An info icon that you may hover over to see a popup of which instance filters you've applied.
